The Philo Boys Basketball Team will be holding their annual Alumni Game/Meet the Team this Wednesday, at 7:00 p.m. at the Power Plant. The doors will open at 6:00 with a $2 entry fee for all spectators. All boys basketball players may enter free of charge. The youth boys basketball players will be announced before tip-off and grades 7-12 will be introduced during intermission. The varsity cheerleaders have been invited to perform at the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day. This invitation came from UCA Cheer based on their superior ratings at summer camp. They are holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Sunday, September 23rd from 12-2 at the Cornerstone Barracks. The all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner comes with salad, bread, and drink. Desserts are available for a donation. Thanks for supporting the varsity cheerleaders performing at the 2019 Citrus Bowl!

The Philo High School cheerleaders are hosting a Chipotle fundraiser night on Wednesday, September 12th from 5-9pm. They will earn 33% of proceeds if a flyer is presented at time of payment.
The Philo High School cheerleaders are also hosting our PHS Little Cheer Clinic September 18th-20th at Duncan Falls Elementary and Roseville Elementary Schools from 4-6pm. The mini cheerleaders will receive a t-shirt, free entrance to the football game, and perform during pre-game on September 21st. Cost is $25 per participant. All registration forms are due Friday, September 14th at each school.

The Philo Band Boosters will be having a Fundraiser at Buffalo Wild Wings in Zanesville on Tuesday, September 18th from 11am to 11pm. The Band Boosters will earn 15% of your total bill when you present the flyer. These flyers can be obtained from any high school band member, school office or on district web site. Your community wants to celebrate with you as you enter kindergarten! A Kindergarten Back Pack Event will be held this Saturday, August 4thfrom 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Ohio University-Zanesville campus. This event is open to all Franklin Local children registered for kindergarten this school year. There will be free activities, a free back pack, and some free supplies you’ll need for kindergarten. Come and meet some kindergarten teachers, your School Principal, and me, your School Superintendent. No registration for the event is required. I hope to see you on Saturday!

The Philo Football Team would like to invite you to the Rittberger Scale Haus Barn to meet Ohio State Buckeye & NFL football player, Anthony Schlegel, this Saturday July 21st. Doors will open at 6pm for social hour. Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork and BBQ Chicken will be served with side dishes at 7 pm, followed by Anthony Schlegel sharing stories and experiences from his days in the Air Force Academy, his days at OSU, his time in the NFL, and many other interesting events while growing up in the state of Texas. Tickets are $35 each. A silent auction including 2 Ohio State tickets and a reverse raffle will be held as well as gaming tables and music. First, the Philo Boys Basketball Team is sponsoring “Donkey Basketball” on November 15th, at 7:00 p.m. in the “Power Plant”. Doors will open at 6:00. All tickets are $6 in advance, and $8 at the door. Tickets are being sold at all Franklin Local Schools and Citizens National Bank in Duncan Falls. Free donkey rides will be provided during intermission for all children 12 years of age and under and must be accompanied by a paid parent or guardian.
Secondly, the Philo Boys Basketball Team is holding an Alumni Game/Meet the Team Night on November 22nd at 7:00 inside the “Power Plant”. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. with a $2 entry fee for all spectators. Any Philo alum is invited to participate in the game. The cost is $20. Now, for the final announcement. Philo Varsity Football will play Indian Valley at Meadowbrook High School Friday night at 7:30. Gates will open at 6:00. Philo Youth Wrestling sign-ups are tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 7th from 5:30-7:30 in front of the library at the Duncan Falls Elementary School. The cost is $40 for the first child and $20 for each additional child. Sign-ups will remain open during the first week of practice. The last date to sign up will be Thursday, November 16th. Practices begin on November 13th at 5:30 p.m. in the Duncan Falls Elementary School cafeteria. Please contact Troy Swartz at 740-221-6889 with any questions.

Tickets for the varsity football playoff game between Philo and St. Clairsville be sold at Philo High School on Wednesday, November 1st through Friday, November 3rd at 2:15. Presale tickets are $8.00. Tickets at the gate will cost $9.00. Ages 6 and up will need to purchase tickets.Friday’s game against St Clairsville will start at 7:30 p.m. with the gates opening at 5:30.Parking at the game will cost $3.00.There will be a bonfire/pep rally Thursday, November 2nd at the locker room at 6:30 p.m. for all students and community members.
