Governor DeWine announced on 3/10/20 that all schools will be closed for 3 weeks and will be re-evaluated after that. Franklin Local School District will follow that order and be closed Monday, March 16th through April 3rd. While we are closed, everyone is advised to not congregate together so the disease spread slows down. All athletic and theater practices will cease after tomorrow. Children can be carriers so they should avoid visiting with or staying with older adults who can easily contract the disease. Instructional packets will be sent home with students tomorrow. Grades 6-12 students will have access to some lessons that are downloaded to their iPads. Those links are also on our website under student links. This is an unprecedented global event. We can get through this together.
The Ohio Resident Educator Program began in 2011, and has evolved to a comprehensive multi-year induction program, resulting in Professional Licensure with successful completion of the program and the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA). The Ohio Resident Educator Program can be envisioned as the first years of a journey or the first steps on a path of continued professional learning, leading educators to more effective practices and excellence in teaching. While the purposes of each continue to differ: licensure (RE) and evaluation (OTES) the teacher residency program is designed to fit alongside with the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES), making with clear linkages and connections between the two.
